The Heritage Fairs Program started in Saskatchewan in 1997. Saskatoon was the host city for the first Regional Heritage Fair. The following year, the Regional Heritage Fairs expanded to include Regina and Saskatoon. The Regional Heritage Fairs will be held in six locations: Humboldt, Meadow Lake, Moose Jaw, Prince Albert, Regina, and Saskatoon.

This year Ten Projects and ten students will be selected from each of the six SYHFA Regional Heritage Fairs to attend the Provincial Showcase to be held in Regina in May.
